THYLOR RED *VRC has dominating red genes!

515HO00320 THYLOR RED *VRC carries the rare Variant Red Gene. The VRC gene works in a different way then traditional red genes. It dominates over B&W. THYLOR RED is heterozygous VRC and therefore breeds 50% red offspring, no matter what color the dam carries.

THYLOR RED is a Charley son out of a Headliner out of a Man-O-Man. His dam is Lis Tiara Red VG-87-NL VG-87-MS, an incredible type VRC red cow with a huge production: >11.000 kg in the first lactation. Lis Tiara Red comes from the fantastic Canadian cow family Fools Gold Red that had many successes in the Canadian show ring.

THYLOR RED has genotype A2A2. Milk with beta-casein A2 is gaining interest, digestion is believed to be easier than A1 milk. Read more about A2 milk here: A2A2. On top of this THYLOR RED transmits lots of Milk (+1708 lbs PTAM) with positive components and +123 Fat & Protein (CFP). GTPI is a good +2468.

The linear traits of THYLOR RED are remarkable. Ribs are very open (+2.20 Dairy Form), the Rear Udder Height is +2.28 and udders are wide with +2.10 (Rear Udder Width). However, Rump Angle and Teat Length continue to ask for attention. THYLOR RED breeds healthy milk (Somatic Cell Score 2.78) and can be used on heifers (Sire Calving Ease 6.9).
